20th anniversary of...
Today marks the 20th anniversary of the bombing of Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta. It happened at 1:20am on July 27, 1996. I was asleep and was awoken by the news by my then girlfriend's family. I watched coverage of the bombing most of the night. Later in the day, 20 years ago, I went to see Track and Field at the Olympic Stadium. Security was so tight. Earlier in the day, ACOG management said the games would continue. We all should remember Alice Hawthorne and her family, and over 100 injured on that fateful day back in 1996.
