The USA men's beach volleyball team of Phil Dalhausser/Nick Lucena lost to Cherif/Ahmed of Qatar 2-1, 21-14, 19-21, 11-15 in the round of 16. Dalhausser/Lucena are eliminated.

Krysta Palmer of the USA wins bronze in women's 3M springboard diving with 343.75 points. Tingmao Shi of China wins gold with 383.55 points and Han Wang of China wins silver with 348.75 points. American Hailey Hernandez finished 9th with 288.45 points.

Katherine Nye of the USA wins silver in women's weightlifting snatch 76kg. Neisi  Dajomes Barrera of Ecuador wins gold and Aremi Zavala of Mexico wins bronze.

American MyKayla Skinner wins silver on vault with a score of 14.916 in the women's gymnastics event finals. Rebeca Andrade of Brazil wins gold with a score of 15.083 and Seojeong Yeo of Korea wins bronze with a score of 14.733. American Jade Carey finished 8th in the vault with a score of 12.416.

American Sunisa Lee wins bronze on the uneven bars with a score of 14.500 in the women's gymnastics event finals. Nina Bel Derwael of Belgium wins gold with a score of 15.200 and Anastasiia Iliankova of ROC wins silver with a score of 14.833.

Yul Muldauer of the USA finished 6th on Floor Exercise with a score of 13.533 in the men's gymnastics event finals. American Alec Yoder finished 6th on the Pommel Horse with a score of  14,566.

The USA won a bronze medal in men's fencing team foil beating Japan 45-31. France wins gold and ROC wins silver.

Fred Kerley and Ronnie Baker, both of the USA, advanced to the men's 100 finals. Trayvon Bromell of the USA did not qualify for the finals.

Gabriele Cunningham and Keni Harrison, both of the USA, advanced to the women's 100 hurdles finals. American Christina Clemons(Manning) did not advance to the finals.

Rai Benjamin of the USA advanced to the men's 400 hurdles finals.  Americans Kenny Selmon and David Kendziera did not advance to the finals.

Clayton Murphy of the USA advanced to the 800 finals.  Americans Bryce Hoppel and Isiah Jewett did not advance to the finals. Jewett and Nijel Amos of Botswana were tripped up and finished the race but Jewett finished 7th and Amos 8th. Amos was reinstated to the finals, Jewett was not reinstated.

Fred Kerley of the USA wins silver in the men's 100M final in 9. 84 seconds. Lamont Marcell Jacobs of Italy wins gold in 9.80 seconds. Andre de Grasse of Canada wins bronze in 9.89 seconds. American Ronnie Baker finished 5th in 9.95 seconds.

The USA men's volleyball team lost to Argentina 3-0, 21-25, 23-25, 23-25. The USA has been eliminated and will not advance to the quarterfinals. 

The USA beach volleyball team of Alix Klineman/April Ross beat Lidy/Leila of Cuba 2-0, 21-17, 21-15.

Cory McGee, Ellie Pierre Purrier and Heather MacLean, all of the USA, advanced to the women's 1500 semifinals.

Rudy Winker and Daniel Haugh, both of the USA, advanced to the men's hammer throw finals.

Gabby Thomas, Anavia Battle and Jenna Prandini, all of the USA, advanced to the women's 200 semifinals.

Keni Harrison of the USA wins silver (12.52 seconds) in the women's 100 hurdles. Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico wins gold in 12.37 seconds and Megan Tapper of Jamaica wins bronze in 12,55 seconds.
