Kate Douglass and Lilly King, both of the USA, advanced to the women's 200 breaststroke semifinals.

Ryan Murphy and Keaton Jones, both of the USA, advanced to the men's 200 backstroke semifinals.

Regan Smith and Alex Shackell, both of the USA, advanced to women's 200 butterfly semifinals.

American Perris Benegas wins silver (score of 90.70) in the women's cycling BMX freestyle park final. Yawen Deng of China wins gold with a 92.60 score and Natalya Diehm of Australia wins bronze with a 88.80 score.

The USA women's beach volleyball team of Kelly Cheng/Sara Hughes beat Clemence Viera/Aline Chamereau of France 2-0, 21-16, 23-21.

The USA women's volleyball team defeated Serbia 3-2, 25-17, 25-20, 20-25, 14-25, 17-15. 

American Evy Leibfarth wins bronze (109.95) in the women's canoe slalom single final. Jessica Fox of Australia wins gold in 101.06 and Elena Lilik of Germany wins silver in 103.54.

Americans Paul Juda and Frederick Richard finished 14th and 15th in the men's gymnastics All Around Final. Paul Juda scored a 13.533 on Floor Exercise, 13.866 on Pommel Horse, 13.433 on Rings, 13.733 on vault, 13.866 on parallel bars and 13.866 on high bar. Frederick Richard scored a 13.200 on Floor Exercise, 12.733 on Pommel Horse, 13.600 on Rings, 14.100 on Vault, 14.133 on on Parallel Bars and 14.400 on High Bar.

The USA women's water polo team beat Italy 10-3. Maddie Musselman scored 3 goals to lead team USA.

The USA women's soccer team defeated Australia 2-1. Goals were scored by Trinity Rodman and Korbin Albert. The USA moves on to the quarterfinals.

American Torri Huske wins silver (52.29) in the women's 100 freestyle. Sarah Sjoestroem of Sweden wins gold in 52.16 and Siobhan Bernadette Haughey of Hong Kong wins bronze in 52.33. 

Regan Smith and Alex Shackell, both of the USA, advanced to the women's 200 butterfly final.

The USA men's basketball team beat South Sudan 103-86. The USA led 55-36 at halftime. The USA was led in scoring by Bam Adebayo with 18 points, Kevin Durant had 14 points and Anthony Edwards had 13 points for Team USA.

American Katie Ledecky wins gold in the women's 1500 freestyle. Ledecky set an Olympic record of 15:30.02. Anastasiia Kirpichnikova of France wins silver in 15:40.35 and Isabel Gose of Germany wins bronze in 15:41.16.

The USA women's 3 on 3 basketball team lost to Azerbaijan 20-17. Dearica Hamby scored 7 points to lead team USA.

Keaton Jones of the USA advanced to the men's 200 backstroke final.

The USA men's 3 on 3 basketball team lost to Poland 19-17. The USA was led in scoring by Dylan Travis and Canyon Barry with 6 points each.
