Day 7 - August 1, 2024







The USA men's water polo team lost to Greece 13-11. Alex Bowen and  Max Irving led the USA in scoring with 2 goals each.

The USA men's four rowing team of Nick Mead, Justin Best, Michael Grady and Liam Corrigan wins gold (5:49.03). New Zealand wins silver in 5:49.88 and Great Britain wins bronze in 5:52.42. 

Regan Smith and Phoebe Bacon, both of the USA, advanced to the women's 200 backstroke semifinals.

Caeleb Dressel of the USA advanced to the men's 50 freestyle semifinals.

Carson Foster and Shaine Casas, both of the USA, advanced to the men's 200IM semifinals.

The women's USA 4 by 200 freestyle relay team of Anna Peploski, Erin Gemmel, Simone Manuel, and Alex Shackell advanced to the final.

The USA women's 3 on 3 basketball team lost to Australia 17-15. Rhyne Howard led the USA in scoring with 8 points.

The USA women's foil fencing team of Lee Keifer, Lauren Scruggs, Jacqueline Dubrovich and Maia Mei Weintraub wins gold by beating Italy 45-39. 

The USA beach volleyball team of Andy Benesh/Miles Partain beat George Souto Maior Wanderly/Andre Loyola Stein of Brazil 2-1, 21-17, 14-21, 15-8. 

Simone Biles (59.131( and Sinisa Lee (56.465), both of the USA, win gold and bronze respectfully in women's gymnastics All Around final. Rebeca Andrade of Brazil wins silver with a score of 57.932. Simone Biles scored a 15.766 on vault, 13.733 on uneven bars, 14.566 on balance beam and 15.066 on floor exercise. Sunisa Lee scored a 13.933 on vault, 14.866 on uneven bars, 14.000 on balance beam, and 13.666 on floor exercise.

The USA men's 3 on 3 basketball team lost to Lithuania 20-18. Canyon Barry led team USA in scoring with 9 points.

American Regan Smith wins silver (2:03.84) in the women's 200 butterfly. Summer McIntosh of Canada wins gold in an Olympic record 2:03.03 and Yufei Zhang of China wins bronze in 2:05.09.

American Caeleb Dressel advanced to the men's 50 freestyle finals.

The USA women's basketball team beat Belgium 87-74. The USA led 46-38 at halftime. Breanna Stewart had 26 points to lead team USA. A'ja Wilson scored 23 points.

American Kate Douglass wins gold (2:19.24) in the women's 200 breaststroke. Tatjana Smith of South Africa wins silver in 2:19.60 and Tes Schouten of the Netherlands wins bronze in 2:21.05.

The USA women's 3 on 3 basketball team beat Spain 17-11. Hailey van Lith and Rhyne Howard each scored 5 points to lead team USA.

The USA women's beach volleyball team of Taryn Kloth/Kristen Nuss beat Chen Xue/Xinyi Xia pf China 2-1, 15-21, 21-16, 15-12. This match was interrupted by lightning before it was resumed.

The women's USA 4 by 200 freestyle relay team of Claire Weinstein, Paige Madden, Katie Ledecky and Erin Gemmell win silver ((7:40.86).  Australia wins gold in an Olympic record 7:38.08 and China wins bronze in 7:42.34.

The USA 3 by 3 basketball team lost to Latvia 21-19. Canyon Barry scored 10 points to lead team USA.
