One year until Tokyo 2020 Olympics!
Today marks exactly one year until the Opening Ceremony of the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games. The games run from July 24 - August 9, 2020. NBC Olympics put out a nice video of US athletes as they prepare for the games. The photos of the Tokyo Games Olympic medals were released today as well! Very nice medals!

IOC awards 2026 Winter Olympic games to..
Yesterday, The IOC awarded the 2026 Winter Olympic games to Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo received 47 IOC Votes to Stockholm-Ire, Sweden, who had 34 votes. According to the IOC there were 81 valid voting IOC Members and a majority of 41 votes was needed. Several Cities bidding for the 2026 Winter Olympic games dropped out or their bid failed by a referendum vote. Those cities were, Calgary, Canada, Sapporo, Japan, Sion, Switzerland, Graz, Austria and. Erzurum, Turkey. The IOC said than Milan- Cortina d'Ampezzo bid aligns with Olympic 2020 reforms as over 90 percent of structures(permanent and temporary) used for the games have been built. The games will take place from February 6-22, 2026.

2019 USA Figure Skating Championships/2019 World Figure Skating Championships
The USA National Figure Skating Championships were held in Detroit, Michigan from January 22-27, 2019.
Nathan Chen won his third straight USA men's Figure Skating Championship. Alysa Liu became the youngest Figure Skater to win the women's title at 13 years old, surpassing 15 year old Tara Lipinski. Madison Hubbell/Zach Donohue win their second straight Ice Dance title.
