Day 3 - July 28, 2024





Luke Hobson of the USA advanced to the men's 200 Freestyle semifinals.

Carson Foster of the USA advanced to the men's 400IM finals.

Lilly King of the USA advanced to the women's 100 breaststroke semifinals.

Ryan Murphy and Hunter Armstrong, both of the USA, advanced to the men's 100 backstroke semifinals.

The USA women's Gymnastics team qualified for the team final by finishing 1st in subdivision 2. Simone Biles and Suni Lee will compete in the women's All-Around.

Claire Weinstein and Erin Gemmell, both of the USA, advanced to the women's 200 freestyle semifinals.

American Haley Batten wins silver (1:28.59) in the women's cross country cycling mountain bike. Pauline Ferrand Prevot of France wins gold in 1:26.02 and Jenny Rissveds of Sweden wins bronze in 1:29.04.

The USA men's water polo team lost to Italy 12-8. The USA was led by Hannes Daube with 3 goals. Alex Bowen and Max Irving had 2 goals each.

The USA men's basketball team beat Serbia 110-84. The USA started slow losing 10-2, but led after the first quarter 25-20 and led 58-49 at halftime. The USA was led by Kevin Durant with 23 points, Lebron James had 21 points and Jrue Holiday had 15 points to lead team USA.

Carson Foster of the USA wins bronze (4:08.66) in the men's 400IM. Leon Marchland of France wins gold in 4:02.95 and Tomoyuki Matsushita of Japan wins silver in 4:08.62.

Torri Huske (55.59) and Gretchen Walsh (55.63), both of the USA, wins gold and silver respectively in the women's 100 butterfly. Yufei Zhang of China wins bronze in 56.21.

Lilly King of the USA advanced to the women's 100 breaststroke finals.

Ryan Murphy of the USA advanced to the men's 100 backstroke finals.

The USA women's soccer team beat Germany 4-1. 2 goals were scored by Sophia Smith,1goal was scored each by Mallory Swanson and Lynn Williams. 

Nic Fink of the USA ties for silver with Adam Peaty of Great Britain (59.05) in the men's 100 breaststroke. Nicolo Martinenghi of Italy wins gold in 59.03.

USA fencer Lee Keifer beat USA fencer Lauren Scruggs to win gold 15-6 in women's fencing - Individual Foil Gold Medal Bout. Scruggs wins silver.

Claire Weinstein of the USA advanced to the women's 200 freestyle finals.

The USA women's beach Volleyball team of Sara Hughes/Kelly Cheng beat Barbora Hermannova/Marie-Sara Stochlova of CZE 2-0, 21-16, 21-11.

The USA women's volleyball team defeated Argentina 3-0, 25-20, 25-19, 25-20. 

Regan Smith and Rhyan White, both of the USA, advanced to the semifinals of the women's 100 backstroke.

Townley Haas and Kieran Smith, both of the USA advanced to the semifinals of the men's 200 freestyle.

Lydia Jacoby and Lilly King, both of the USA, advanced to the semifinals of the women's 100 breaststroke.

Joe Armstrong and Ryan Murphy, both of the USA advanced to the semifinals of the men's 100 backstroke.

Katie Ledecky and Paige Madden, both of the USA, advanced to the finals of the women's 400 freestyle.

The USA 4 by 100 freestyle relay team of Brooks Curry, Blake Pieroni, Bowen Becker and Zach Apple advanced to the finals.

The USA men's beach volleyball team of Jake Gibb/Tri Bourne defeated Carambula/Rossi of Italy 2-0, 21-18 and 21-19.

France beat the USA in men's basketball 83-76. The USA led 45-37 at halftime. The USA was led by Jrue Holiday with 18 points followed by Bam Adebayo with 12 points and Damian Lilliard had 11 points. 

Jagger Eaton wins bronze in men's skateboarding street final. Yuto Horigome of Japan wins gold and Kelvin Hoefler of Brazil wins silver.

William Shaner of the USA wins gold in the men's 10m air rifle competition. Lihao Sheng of China wins silver and Haoran Yang of China wins bronze.

Lee Kiefer of the USA wins gold in the women's Fencing Individual Foil, beating Inna Deriglazova of ROC 15-13.

Anastasija Zolotic wins gold in Taekwondo defeating Tatiana Minina of ROC.

USA women's 3M Synchro divers Alison Gibson/Krysta Palmer finished 8th.

The USA women's gymnastics team finished 2nd with 170.629 points and will qualify for the women's team final. ROC was 1st with 171.629 points. China was 3rd with 166.863 points and France was 4th with 164.561 points. Simone Biles and Sunisa Lee both qualify for women's All Around competition.  Simone Biles qualifies in all 4 apparatus finals while Sunisa Lee qualified for the finals on the Balance Beam and Uneven bars. Jade Carey qualified for finals on Floor Exercise and Vault. 

The USA women's Beach Volleyball team of Kelly Claes/Sarah Sponcil beat Tina Graudina/ Anastasija Kravcenoka of Latvia 2-1, 21-13, 16-21, 15-11.

The USA women's softball team beat Japan 2-1.  Monica Abbott got the win. USA  came from behind as they were losing 1-0 to Japan and scored a run in each in the 6th and 7th innings. Kelsey Stewart hit a walk off home run for the win.

Kieran Smith of the USA advanced to the finals of the men's 200 freestyle.

Lydia Jacoby and Lilly King, both of the USA, advanced to the finals of the women's 100 breaststroke.

Katie Ledecky of the USA wins silver in the women's 400 freestyle in 3 minutes 57.36 seconds. Ariarne Titmus of Australia wins gold in 3 minutes 56.69 seconds and Bingjie Li of China wins bronze in 4 minutes 1.08 seconds.

Ryan Murphy of the USA advanced to the finals of the men's 100 backstroke.

Rhyan White and Regan Smith, both of the USA, advance to the finals of the women's 100 backstroke.

The USA men's 4 by 100 relay team of Caeleb Dressel, Blake Pieroni, Bowen Becker and Zach Apple wins gold in 3 minutes 8.97 seconds. Italy wins silver in 3 minutes 10.11 seconds and Australia wins bronze in 3 minutes 10.22 seconds.
