The USA men's volleyball team lost to ROC, 1-3, 23-25, 25-27, 25-21, 23-25.

The USA women's water polo team beat China 12-7.  Mckenzie Fischer led team USA with 3 goals. Rachel Fattal had 2 goals for Team USA.

Amber English of the USA wins gold in women's skeet shooting. Diana Bacosi of Italy wins silver and Meng Wei of China wins bronze.

Vincent Hancock of the USA wins gold in men's skeet shooting. Jesper Henson of Denmark wins silver and Abdullah Alrashidi of Kuwait wins bronze.

Katie Ledecky and Allison Schmitt, both of the USA, advance to the semifinals of the women's 200 freestyle.

Gunnar Bentz and Zach Hartung, both of the USA, advance to the semifinals of the men's 200 butterfly.

Kae Douglass and Alex Walsh, both of the USA, advance to the women's 200 IM.

Katie Ledecky and Erica Sullivan, both of the USA, advance to the finals of the women's 1500 freestyle. Ledecky sets an Olympic record with a time of 15 minutes 35.35 seconds.

The USA men's gymnastics team finished 5th in the team final with 254.594 points. ROC wins gold with 262.500 points. Japan wins silver with 262.397 points. China wins bronze with 261.894 points. Great Britain was 4th with 255.760 points.  Brody Malone scored 14.000 on the Pommel Horse,  scored 14.100 on Rings, scored 14.233 on Vault and scored 14.633 on High Bar. Sam Mikulak scored 13,733 on Pommel Horse, scored 14.466 on Vault, scored a 15.000 on Parallel Bars, scored 14.566 on High Bar and scored a 12.133 on Floor Exercise. Yul Moldauer scored 14.366 on Pommel Horse, scored 13.900 on Rings, scored 14.200 on Vault and scored 14.566 on Parallel Bars. Shane Wiskus scored 14.166 on Rings, scored 14.700 on Parallel Bars, scored 14.000 on High Bar and scored 13.466 on Floor Exercise, 

The USA women's volleyball team of April Ross/Alix Klineman defeated Liliana/Elsa of Spain 2-0, 21-13, 21-16.

In, women's Triathlon, Katie Zaferes of the USA wins bronze. Flora Duffy of Bermuda wins gold and Georgia Taylor Benson of Great Britain wins silver.

Katie Ledecky of the USA advanced to the finals of the women's 200 freestyle.

Regan Smith of the USA wins bronze in the women's 100 backstroke in a time of 58.05 seconds. Kaylee McKeown of Australia wins gold in an Olympic record 57.47 seconds. Kylie Masse of Canada wins silver in 57.72 seconds. 

Ryan Murphy of the USA wins bronze in the men's 100 backstroke in a time of 52.19 seconds. Evgeny Rylov of ROC wins gold in 51.98 seconds. Kliment Kolesnikov of ROC wins silver in 52.00 seconds.

Lydia Jacoby(1 minute 4.95 seconds) and Lilly King(1 minute 5.54 seconds), both of the USA, win gold and bronze respectively, in the women's 100 breaststroke. Tatjana Schoenmaker of South Africa wins silver in 1 minute 5.22 seconds.

Gunnar Bentz of the USA advanced to the finals of the men's 200 butterfly.

Alex Walsh and Kate Douglass, both of the USA, advance to the finals of the women's 200IM.

The USA Beach volleyball team of Nick Lucena/Phil Dalhausser beat Alison/Alvaro of Brazil 2-1, 24-22, 19-21, 15-13.
