American  Brandon Loschiavo advanced to the men's 10M platform diving semifinal.

American Taliyah Brooks (6.15) scored 896 points in the women's heptathlon long jump. Americans Anna Hall (5.93) scored 828 points and Chari Hawkins (5.90) scored 819 points.

The USA women's 4 by 100 relay team of Quanera Hayes, Shamier Little, Aaliyah Butler and Kaylyn Brown advanced to the final.

The USA men's 4 by 400 relay team of Quincy Wilson, Vernon Norwood, Bryce Deadmon and Chris Bailey advanced to the final.

American Anna Hall (45.99) scores 783 points in the women's heptathlon Javelin throw. Americans Chari Hawkins (44.30) scored 750 points and Taliyah Brooks (38.76) scored 644 points.

American Bryce Hoppel advanced to the men's 800 final.

Grace Stark, Alaysha Johnson and Masai Russell, all of the USA, advanced to the women's 100 hurdles final.

The USA men's water polo team lost to Serbia 10-6 in the semifinals. Marko Vavic scored 2 goals to lead team USA.

The USA men's volleyball team beat Italy to win bronze 3-0, 25-23, 30-28, 26-24. 

The USA women's basketball team beat Australis 85-64 to advance to the gold medal game vs France. The USA led 45-27 at halftime. Breanna Stewart and Jackie Young led the USA in scoring with 16 points and 14 points respectively.

American Spencer Lee wins silver in men's freestyle wrestling 57k final by losing to Rei Higuchi of Japan 4-2. Higuchi wins gold.

American Aaron Brooks wins bronze by beating Javrail Shapiev of Uzbekistan 5-0 in men's freestyle wrestling86k bronze medal match.

American Helen Maroulis beat Hannah Taylor of Canada 4-0 to win bronze in women's freestyle wrestling 57k bronze medal match. 

The USA women's 4 by 100 relay team of Melissa Jefferson, Twanisha Terry, Gabby Thomas and Sha'carri Richardson win gold in 41.78. Great Britain wins silver in 41.85 and Germany wins bronze in 41.97.

American Olivia Reeves wins gold in women's 71k weightlifting. Mari Leivis Sanchez of Columbia wins silver and Angie Paola Palacios Dajomes of Ecuador wins bronze.

American Kristina Teachout wins bronze by beating Jie Song of China 2-0 in women's taekwando bronze medal contest. 

American Anna Hall (2:04/39) scores 1048 points in the women's heptathlon 800 run. Americans Taliyah Brooks (2:13.95) scored 908 points and Chari Hawkins (2:15.76) scored 882 points. Anna Hall finished 5th with 6615 points,  Taliyah Brooks finished 11th with 6258 points and Chari Hawkins finished 21st with 5255 points.

American Rai Benjamin (46.46) wins gold in the men's 400 hurdles. Karsten Warholm of Norway wins silver in 47.06 and Alison dos Santos wins bronze in 47.26.

The USA men's basketball team beat Australia 97-78 to advance to the gold medal match against France. Australia led the USA 45-42 at halftime. The USA was led in scoring by Kevin Durant with 23 points. Devin Booker added 20 points and Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton each had 11 points for team USA.

American Delaney Schnell finished 5th (340.40 points) at the women's 10M platform diving finals. Hongchan Quan of China wins gold with an Olympic Record 466.20 points that included 2 perfect 10 dives. Quan is 14 years old. Yuxi Chen of China wins silver with 425.40 points and Melissa Wu of Australia wins bronze with 371.40 points.

The USA women's soccer team wins bronze by beating Australia 4-3. The USA was ahead at halftime 3-1. Megan Rapinoe scored 2 goals (8th minute and 21st minute) and Carli Lloyd scored 2  goals (51st minute and 45th +1 minute) for team USA. Canada wins gold by beating Sweden 1-1 (3-2 on penalty kicks). Sweden wins silver.

Americans Garrett Scantling finished 4th in the men's decathlon with 8611 points. Zack Ziemek finished 6th with 8435 points and Steve Bastien finished 10th with 8236 points. Damian Warner of Canada wins gold with 9018 points, Kevin Mayer of France wins silver with 8726 points and Ash Moloney of Australia wins bronze with 8649 points.

Americans Kendell Williams finished 5th in the women's heptathlon with 6508 points, Annie Kunz finished 6th with 6420 points and Erica Bougard finished 9th with 6379 points. Nafissatou Thiam of Belgium wins gold with 6791 points. Anouk Vetter of the Netherlands wins silver with 6689 points and Emma Oosterwegel of the Netherlands wins bronze with 6590 points.

The USA baseball team beat Korea 7-2 to advance to the gold medal game against Japan. Ryan Ryder gets the win.

The USA women's water polo team beat ROC 15-11 to advance to the gold medal match vs Spain. Maddie Musselman had 5 goals to lead team USA and Maggie Steffens added 3 goals.

Katie Nageotte of the USA wins gold (16ft 3/4 in) in the women's pole vault. Anzhelika Sidorova of ROC wins silver by vaulting 15 Ft. 9 in. and Holly Bradshaw of Great Britain wins bronze with a vault of 15 Ft. 9 in. 

The USA women's 4 by 400 relay team of Kaylin Whitney Wadeline Jonathas, Kendall Ellis and Lynna Irby advanced to the finals.

Cole Hocker of the USA advanced to the men's 1500 finals.  American Matthew Centrowitz finished 9th in the other 1500 semifinals and did not advance to the finals.

Michael Cherry (44.21 seconds) and Michael Norman (44.31 seconds), both of the USA, finished 4th and 5th respectively, in the men's 400 finals. Steven Gardiner of the Bahamas wins gold in 43.85 seconds, Anthony Zambrano of Columbia wins silver in 44.08 seconds and Kirani James of Grenada wins bronze in 44.19 seconds.

American Cory Juneau wins bronze with a score of 84.13 in the skateboarding park final. Keegan Palmer of Australia wins gold with a score of 95.83 and Pedro Barros of Brazil wins silver with a 86.14 score.

American Nathaniel Coleman wins silver in sports climbing-men's combined. Alberto Lopez Gines of Spain wins gold and Jakob Schubert of Austria wins bronze.

American Thomas Gilman wins bronze by beating Reza Atrinagharchi of Iran 9-1 in freestyle wrestling 57kg bronze medal match

American David Taylor wins gold by beating Hassan Yazdanicharati of Iran 4-3 in men's freestyle wrestling 86kg class. Yazdanicharati wins silver.

American Helen Maroulis wins bronze by beating Khongorzul Boldsaikhan of Mongolia 11-0 in women's freestyle wrestling 57kg bronze medal match.

The USA women's beach volleyball team of Alix Klineman/April Ross wins gold by beating Artacho/Clancy of Australia 2-0, 21-15, 21-16. Artacho/Clancy wins silver. Verge-Depre/Heidrich of Switzerland beat Graudina/Kravcenoka of Latvia 2-0, 21-19, 21-15 to win bronze.

Chaunte Lowe, Inika Mcpherson and Vashti Cunningham, all of the USA, advance to the women's high jump finals.

Ryan Crouser and Joe Kovacs, both of the USA, advance to the finals of the men's shot put.

The USA women's 4 by 100 relay team was originally disqualified after Allyson Felix was impeded by the elbow of a Brazillian. Felix then dropped the baton but the USA did finish and filed a protest. The protest was allowed and the USA will run a solo heat to qualify for the finals on Friday.

The USA men's 4 by 100 relay team advanced to the finals in 37.65 seconds.

Kerron Clement of the USA wins gold in the men's 400 hurdles in 47.73 seconds. Boniface Mucheru Tumuti of Kenya wins silver in 47.78 seconds. Yashmani Copello of Turkey wins bronze in 47.92 seconds.

The USA women's volleyball team lost to Serbia 3-2, 25-20, 17-25, 21-25, 25-16, 13-15. The USA women's team will play for the bronze medal.

Jessica Parratto and Katrina Young, both of the USA, advance to the finals of the women's 10M platform diving competition. In the finals Jessica Parratto finished 10th with 334.60 points.

Helen Maroulis of the USA wins gold in the women's 53kg freestyle wrestling competition with a win against Saori Yoshida of Japan 3-1. Its the first gold medal for a USA woman in the Olympic games.

The USA women's basketball team beat France 86-67 to advance to the gold medal game against Spain on Saturday. The USA overcame a slow start to lead 40-36 a halftime. Diana Taurasi led team USA with 18 points. Maya Moore had 15 points for team USA.

Ryan Crouser(73 ft 10 3/4 in) and Joe Kovacs(71 ft 5 1/2in), both of the USA, wins gold and silver respectively in the men's shot put. Tomas Walsh of New Zealand wins bronze with a throw of 70 ft 1 in. Ryan Crouser sets an Olympic record.

Kate Grace of the USA advanced to the women's 800 finals. Ajee Wilson of the USA did not advance to the finals.

The USA women's 4 by 100 relay team ran a solo heat and finished in 41,77 seconds. The USA displaced China who was 8th. Brazil was disqualified for impeding Allyson Felix. The USA advances to the finals.

Ben Blankenship and Matthew Centrowitz, both of the USA, advanced to the finals of the men's 1500.

Ashton Eaton of the USA wins gold in the decathlon with 8893 points, which is an Olympic record. Kevin Mayer of France wins silver with 8834 points. Damian Warner of Canada wins bronze with 8666 points.

Dalilah Muhammad(53.13 seconds) and Ashley Spencer(53.72 seconds), both of the USA win gold and bronze respectively in the women's 400 hurdles. Sara Peterson of Denmark wins silver in 53.55 seconds. This was the first Olympic medal ever for the USA in this event.

Usain Bolt of Jamaica wins gold in the men's 200 in 19.78 seconds. Andre De Grasse of Canada wins silver in 20.02 seconds. Christope Lemaitre of France wins bronze in 20.12 seconds. Lashawn Merritt of the USA finished 6th in 20.19 seconds.
