Day 14







The USA women's volleyball team advances to the gold medal match against Brazil by beating Korea 3-0, 25-20, 25-22 and 25-22.

Alysia Montano of the USA advances to the finals of the women's 800M.

The USA women's 4 by 100 relay team advances to the finals.

The USA women's water polo team wins gold beating Spain 8-5. Spain wins silver and Australia wins bronze.

The USA women's soccer team wins gold by beating Japan 2-1. Carli Lloyd scored both goals for the USA. Canada wins bronze.

Kenya's David Rudisha set a world record in the men's 800M with a time of 1 minute 40.91 seconds while winning gold.

No American medaled in the men's 200M. Usain Bolt of Jamaica wins gold with a time of 19.32 seconds. Yohan Blake of Jamaica wins silver with a time of 19.44 seconds and Warren Weir also of Jamaica wins bronze with a time of 19.84 seconds. Wallace Spearmon of the USA finished 4th with a time of 19.90 seconds.

Christian Taylor and Will Claye, both of the USA, wins gold and silver respectively in the men's triple jump. Fabrizio Donato of Italy wins bronze.

Ashton Eaton and Trey Hardee win gold and silver respectively in the Decathlon. Eaton had 8839 points. Hardee had 8671 points. Leonel Suarez of Cuba wins bronze with a total of 8523 points.

Day 11



Kellie Wells, Dawn Harper and Lolo Jones, all of the USA, advance to the semifinals in the women's 100M hurdles.

Nick Symmonds and Duane Soloman, both of the USA, advance to the men's 800M.

Shannon Rowbury, Jenny Simpson and Morgan Uceny, all of the USA, advance to the semifinals of the women's 1500M.

Gabby Douglas of the USA finished 8th(last) in the women's gymnastics uneven bars with a score of 14.900.

The USA men's water polo team lost to Hungary 11-6.

The USA men's beach volleyball team of Jake Gibb/Sean Rosenthal lose to Plavins/Smedins of Latvia 21-19, 18-21 and 11-15. Gibb/Rosenthal are eliminated.

The USA men's volleyball team beat Tunisia 3-0, 25-15, 25-19 and 25-19. Clay Stanley, Reid Priddy and David Lee sat out.

The USA women's soccer team advanced to the finals beating Canada 4-3 in extra time.
Goals were scored by Megan Rapinoe(2), Abby Wambach and Alex Morgan. Alex Morgan scored in the 123rd minute by heading the ball into the goal. The USA plays Japan for gold on August 9.

Allyson Felix, Carmelita Jeter and Sanya Richards Ross, all of the USA, advance to the semifinals of the women's 200M.

Lashinda Demus, T'erea Brown and Georganne Moline, all of the USA, advance to the finals of the women's 400M hurdles.

Michael Tinsley of the USA wins silver in the men's 400 hurdles. Felix Sanchez of the Dominican Republic wins gold. Javier Culson of Puerto Rico wins bronze. Angelo Taylor of the USA finished 5th.

Jenn Suhr of the USA wins gold in the women's pole vault. Silva Yarisley of Cuba wins silver. Elena Isinbaeva of Russia wins bronze.

The USA men's basketball team beat Argentina 126-97. The USA led 60-59 at halftime and outscored Argentina 42-17 in the third quarter. Kevin Durant had 28 points and Lebron James had 18 for the USA. The USA finished pool play 5-0.

Women's USA soccer -

The USA women's soccer team beat France 4-2. The USA trailed 2-0 and then scored 4 unanswered goals. Goals were scored by Abby Wambach, Alex Morgan(2) and Carli Lloyd.
