Some thoughts on the games so far..
China has so far won more gold than the USA 17-10 but the USA has won more total medals 29-27. Both the men's and women's gymnastics teams and men's and women's synchronized diving teams lost to China but the USA has beaten China in men's and women's basketball and water polo.
My prediction of the USA winning more medals than China is coming true. I did not think China would will more gold medals than the USA. With Track and Field starting Friday hopefully the USA will win more gold medals. So far swimmer Michael Phelps has won 5 gold medals, all in world record time. We need him to win 3 more gold to help close the gap on the Chinese.
Both the USA men's and women's gymnastics teams faltered on the last 2 rotations but still both medalled. Just thinking that the men could have won silver and the women could have won gold.
In late night I watched the USA women's volleyball team beat Venezuela 3-1.
In the morning, the USA women's beach volleyball team of Nicole Branagh/Elaine Youngs defeated Esteves/Crespo of Cuba 21-19, 13-21 and 15-12.
