In the late night session, I watched the USA men's volleyball beat Italy 3-1.
In the morning, the USA men's beach volleyball team of Jake Gibb/Sean Rosenthal defeated Brink/Dieckman of Germany 2-0, 21-15 and 21-13.
Also the USA water polo team beat Italy 12-11.
During the evening, I watched women's synchronized 10m platform diving. The USA team of Mary Beth Dunnicky/Haley Ishimatsu finished 5th. China wins gold.
The USA men's beach volleyball team of Phil Dalhausser/Todd Rogers advanced to the round of 16 with a 21-12, 21-13 win over Baracetti/Conde of Argentina.
In men's swimming, Michael Phelps of the USA wins 2 gold medals in the 200 butterfly and 4 by 200 freestyle relay. Both were world records. He has now won 11 gold medals, more than any Olympic athlete in US history.
Also in swimming American Natalie Coughlin wins bronze in the women's 200IM.
In the women's gymnastics team final, the USA wins silver. China wins gold. Romania wins bronze.
