Day 2

I started out watching USA women fencing, then USA women's basketball vs Czech Republic,which the USA won 97-57 after midnight.

During the day I saw the USA women's volleyball beat Japan 3-1.

The USA women's beach volleyball team of Nicole Branagh/Elaine Youngs beat Kadijk/Mooren of the Netherlands 21-19 and 27-25.

During the evening, I watched the USA men's gymnastics team consisting of Jonathan Horton, Alexander Artemov, Justin Spring, Kevin Tan, Joe Hagerty, and Raj Bhavsar perform in the preliminaries.

The USA women's beach volleyball team of Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh defeated Kusuhara/Saiki of Japan 21-12 and 21-15.

In men's swimming, American Michael Phelps broke a world record in the 400IM to win gold.

Larsen Jensen of the USA wins bronze in the men's 400 freestyle.

American Katie Hoff wins bronze in the women's 400 IM.

USA wins silver in the 400 free relay.
