American Taliyah Brooks (13.00) scored 1124 points in the women's heptathlon 100 hurdles,  Americans Chari Hawkins (13.16) scored 1100 points and Anna Hall ((13.36) scored 1071 points.

Jaida Ross and Raven Saunders, both of the USA, advanced to the women's shot put final.

American Anna Hall (1.89) scored 1093 points in the women's heptathlon high jump. American Taliyah Brooks (1.77) scored 941 points and Chari Hawkins had no mark and scored 0 points.

The USA women's 4 by 100 relay team of Melissa Jefferson, Twanisha Terry, Gabby Thomas and Sha'carri Richardson advanced to the final.

The USA 4 by 100 men's relay team of Christian Coleman, Fred Kerley, Kyree King and Courtney Lindsey advanced to the final.

American Brandon Miller advanced to the men's 800 semifinal from the repechage round.

American Sam Watson wins bronze in the sport climbing speed final. Leonardo Veddriq of Indonesia wins gold and Peng Wu of China wins silver.

The USA women's volleyball team beat Brazil 3-2, 25-23, 18-25, 25-15, 23-25, 15-11. The USA advances to the gold medal match. 

Elle St. Pierre and Nikki Hiltz, both of the USA, advanced to the women's 1500 final.

American Anna Hall (14.11) scored 801 points in the women's heptathlon shot put. Americans Chari Hawkins (13.64) scored 770 points and Taliyah Brooks (13.58) scored 766 points.

The USA women's water polo team lost to Australia 14-13 in the semifinals. Jenna Flynn and Maddie Musselman scored 2 goals each to lead team USA.

Americans Tara Davis Woodhall (7.10) and Jasmine Moore (6.96) wins gold and bronze respectively in the women's long jump. Malaika Mihambo (6.98) of Germany wins silver. 

Kenny Bednarek (19.62) and Noah Lyles (19.70), both of the USA, win silver and bronze respectively in the men's 200. Letsile Tebogo (19.46) of Botswana wins gold.

The USA men's basketball team beat Serbia 95-91 to advance to the finals. The USA was trailing Serbia 54-43 at halftime and was trailing by as much as 17 points in the 3rd quarter but came back in the 4th quarter, outscoring Serbia 32-15 to seal the win. Stephen Curry scored 36 points to lead Team USA. Joel Embiid scored 19 points and Lebron James scored 16 points for team USA.

American Sydney McLaughlin Levrone set a new world record (50.37) in winning gold in the women's 400 hurdles. Anna Cockrell (51.87) of the USA wins silver and Femke Bol (52.15) of the Netherlands wins bronze.

Grant Holloway(12.99) and Daniel Roberts (13.09), both of the USA, win gold and silver respectfully in the men's 110 hurdles. Rasheed Broadbell (13.09) of Jamaica wins bronze.

USA golfer Scottie Scheffler (265) wins gold in men's golf individual stroke play. Tommy Fleetwood  (266) of great Britain wins silver and Hideki Matsuyama (267) of Japan wins bronze.

Courtney Wayment and Valerie Constien, both of the USA, advanced to the women's 3000 steeplechase final.

Deanna Price and Nneka Annette  Echikunwoke, both of the USA, advanced to the women's hammer throw final.

Gabby Thomas, McKenzie Long and Brittany Brown, all of the USA, advanced to the women's 200 semifinals.

Grant Holloway and Daniel Roberts, both of the USA, advanced to the men's 110 hurdles semifinals. American Freddie Crittenden advanced to the men's 110 hurdles repechage round.

Jasmine Jones, Anna Cockrell and Sydney McLaughlin Levrone, all of the USA, advanced to the women's 400 hurdles semifinals.

The USA women's volleyball team beat France 3-0, 29-27, 29-27, 25-20 to advance to the quarterfinals.

American Kristen Faulkner wins gold (3:59.23) in the women's cycling road race. Marianne Vos (4:00.21) of the Netherlands wins silver and Lotte Kopecky (4:00.21) of Belgium wins bronze.

American Brady Ellison wins silver by losing to Kim Woojin of Korea 6-5 in men's archery Individual gold medal match.  Woojin wins gold.  Lee Wooseok of Korea wins bronze by beating Florian Unruh of Germany 6-0.

Austen Jewell Smith of the USA wins bronze in the women's skeet shooting final. Francisca Crovetto Chadid of Chile wins gold and Amber Jo Rutter of Great Britain wins silver.

Sunisa Lee (14.800) of the USA wins bronze on women's gymnastics uneven bars. Kaylia Nemour of Algeria wins gold with a score of 15.700 and Qiyuan Qiu of China wins silver with a score of 15.500.

The USA women's basketball team beat Germany 87-68. The USA led at halftime 41-29. The USA was led in scoring by Jackie Young with 19 points. A'ja Wilson scored 14 points and Breanna Stewart scored 13 points for team USA.

American Bobby Finke wins gold (world record 14:30.67) in men's 1500 freestyle. Gregorio Paltrinieri (14:34.55) of Italy wins silver and Daniel Wiffen (14:39.63) of Ireland wins bronze.

The USA men's 3 on 3 basketball team lost to the Netherlands 21-6. Dylan Travis, Kareem Maddox and Canyon Barry each scored 2 points to lead team USA.

Chris Bailey, Michael Norman and Quincy Hall, all of the USA, advanced to the men's 400 semifinals.

The USA men's 4 by 100 medley relay team of Ryan Murphy, Nic Fink, Caeleb Dressel and Hunter Armstrong wins silver in 3:28.01. China wins gold in 3:27.46 and France wins bronze in 3:28.38.

The USA women's 4 by 100 medley relay team of Regan Smith, Lilly King, Gretchen Walsh and Torri Husk win gold in a world record time of 3:49.63. Australia wins silver in 3:53.11 and China wins bronze in 3:53.23.

Noah Lyles, Kenny Bednarek and Fred Kerley, all of the USA, advanced to the men's 100 final.

Juliette Whittaker of the USA advanced to the women's 800 final.

Cole Hocker, Yared Nuguse and Hobbs Kessler, all of the USA, advanced to the men's 1500 final.

Noah Lyles (9.79) and Fred Kerley (9.81), both of the USA, win gold and bronze in the men's 100. Kishane Thompson of Jamaica wins silver in 9. 79. The difference between Lyles and Thompson was decided by .005 of a second and in a photo finish, Lyles out leans Thompson for gold. Kenny Bednarek of the USA finished 7th  in 9.88. 

The USA women's beach volleyball team of Sara Hughes/Kelly Cheng beat Valentina Gottardi/Marta Menegatti of Italy 2-1, 21=18, 17-21, 15-12. Hughes/Cheng advance to the quarterfinals.

The USA women's volleyball team advanced to the semifinals by beating the Dominican Republic 3-0, 25-11, 25-20, 25-19. The USA women will play next on Thursday August 5.

The USA baseball team beat the Dominican Republic 3-1. Scott Kazmir got the win and David Robertson got the save.

The USA women's basketball team beat Australia 79-55 to advance to the semifinals. The USA led 48-27 at halftime. The USA was led in scoring by Breanna Stewart with 23 points, Brittney Griner had 15 points and A'ja Wilson had 10 points for team USA.

Americans Delaney Schnell (3rd place-360.75 points) and Katrina Young (17th place - 286.65 points) advance the the women's 10M platform diving semifinals.

Through the first 5 of 10 events of the men's decathlon, USA athletes totals are: Steve Bastien with 4369 points, Zack Ziemek has 4322 points and Garrett Scantling has 4318 points.

Through the first 4 of 7 events of the women's heptathlon, USA athletes totals are: Annie Kunz with 3870 points, Erica Bougard has 3837 points and Kendell Williams has 3776 points.

Elle Purrier St. Pierre and Cory McGee, both of the USA, advanced to the women's 1500 finals.

Allyson Felix and Quanera Hayes, both of the USA, advanced to the women's 400 finals.

Courtney Frerichs of the USA wins silver (9 minutes 4.49 seconds) in the women's 3000 steeplechase. Peruth Chemutai of Uganda wins gold in 9 minutes 1.45 seconds and Hyvin Kiyeng of Kenya wins bronze in 9 minutes 5.39 seconds. Valerie Constien of the USA finished 12th in 9 minutes 31.61 seconds and Emma Coburn of the USA  finished 14th in 9 minutes 41.50 seconds after falling over one of the barriers. Coburn was later disqualified. 

American Clayton Murphy finished 9th (1 minute 46.53 seconds) in the men's 800M final.

Americans Ken Bednarek wins silver (19.68 seconds) and Noah Lyles wins bronze (19.74 seconds) in the men's 200. Andre de Grasse of Canada wins gold in 19.62 seconds. American Erriyon Knighton finished 4th in 19.93 seconds.

The USA beach volleyball team of April Ross/Alix Klineman advanced to the gold medal match by beating Verge-Depre/Heidrich of Switzerland 2-0, 21-12, 21-11. 

Delaney Schnell of the USA (3rd - 342.75 points) advanced to the women's 10M platform diving finals. American Katrina Young finished 17th with 263.60 points and did not advance to the finals.

The USA women's 4 by 100 relay team of Javianne Oliver, Teahna Daniels, English Gardner and Aleia Hobbs advanced to the finals.

The USA men's 4 by 100 relay team of Trayvon Bromell, Fred Kerley. Ronnie Baker and Cravon Gillespie finished 6th in 38.10 seconds and did not advance to the finals. Bad handoff between Kerley and Baker puts the USA behind. Ghana finishes 5th in the relays and beats out the USA by .02 of a second.

American Will Claye finishes 4th (57 Ft. 2 3/4 in.) in the men's triple jump.

After 7 of 10 men's decathlon events USA athletes Garrett Scantling has 6065 points, Zach Ziemek has 5996 points and Steve Bastien has 5970 points.

After 6 of 7 women's heptathlon events USA athletes Annie Kunz has 5540 points and Erica Bougard has 5499 points. Kendell Williams's group will be up on the javelin at 12:40 am Eastern time.

American Grant Holloway wins silver (13.09 seconds) in the men's 110 hurdles final. Hansle Parchment of Jamaica wins gold in 13.04 seconds and Ronald Levy of Jamaica wins bronze in 13.10 seconds. Devon Allen of the USA finished 4th in 13.14 seconds.

Americans Ryan Crouser wins gold (76 Ft. 3 3/4 in. ) and Joe Kovacs wins silver ( 74 Ft. 3 3/4 in.) in the men's shot put. Tom Walsh of New Zealand wins bronze with a throw of 73 Ft. 8 3/4 in.
